The six songs released as "Water Tower" are a result of Erik Hamann's and Giovanni Raabe's friendship.
Straightforward club beats, luscious synth sounds and a somber, captivating atmosphere define the EP's core.
From 2018 until 2021, the two artists kept in close digital contact in order to discuss what the music
to Hamann's movie could be like, despite the geographical distance between them - Raabe residing in Germany’s South, Hamann in the North.
Inspired by 2010s synth wave, melancholic post-punk and the ambient genre’s rich history, Raabe used an old laptop plus simple music production freeware to create this hypnotizing lo-fi soundscape to underscore Hamann’s dark mumblecore feature film of the same name. The EP will be released on December 17 via LA DOUBLE VIE.
